Godfred Dame

The government says it has identified more assets owned by businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome which it intends to sell off to defray debts to the state.

Deputy Attorney-General Godfred Dame said two properties have been identified at East Legon and Abelemkpe, all in Accra.

Already the state has obtained a Supreme Court order to sell off a number of properties after Woyome and now defunct UT Bank failed to prove that the properties belonged to the Bank.

The properties are located at Trassaco Valley Estates and Accra New Town which the state had valued at 20 m cedis.

If auctioned off successfully, the state would have slashed this amount off the 47.2m. With some 27.2m left, the state is on a property-hunt.
