Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that forward Mohammed Kudus will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a serious injury setback.

The 25-year-old had only recently returned to first-team training following a three-month spell on the sidelines, but has now been struck by a relapse of a recurring quadriceps problem.

The injury is understood to be severe enough that the Ghana international may need to consult a specialist, with surgery also being considered.

“Kudus, for this season, has gone,” De Zerbi stated.

The Italian coach, who recently took charge at the North London club, admitted the setback is a major blow to his plans, with Kudus previously seen as a key creative figure in his tactical setup.

“Kudus, for this season, has gone. I am sorry for him, first of all, because he is a good guy. Should be very important for us, but we lose time if we speak about the past.”

Before his initial injury in January, Kudus had registered three goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, underlining his importance in Tottenham’s attacking play.

The development also raises concerns for Ghana ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with teammate Antoine Semenyo describing the situation as “frustrating” as the Black Stars prepare for their Group L opener in June.

Kudus is now expected to miss the remainder of the campaign, and his availability for the World Cup remains in serious doubt.
