The management of the Mawarko Restaurant in Accra has been given a one-week ultimatum to submit report on assault of a female worker at its Abelemkpe branch.

Jihad Thaabn, 26, a brother-in-law of the owner of Marwako Restaurant is reported to have dipped the face of a worker, Evelyn Boakye into blended pepper for working slowly on February, 26.

He is said to have held the lady’s face in the pepper for more than 10 minutes while he squeezed her neck amidst abusive words.

This conduct of the supervisor, Mr. Baffuor Awuah stated amounts to a violation of the fundamental human rights of the victim.

The Labour Minister noted that, they will not hesitate closing down all Marwako outlets should the suspect be found guilty.

Also, Gender Minister, Afisa Otiko Djaba has promised justice will be served 25-year-old Ghanaian waitress allegedly assaulted by her Lebanese supervisor in Accra.

She said the Ministry in collaboration with the appropriate security agencies is putting in place the necessary measures to address the issue.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Jihad Thaabn has been charged with assault and is expected to appear before court on Monday.
