Member of Parliament, Ras Mubarak, has challenged Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu to focus on the job assigned him and stop “talking too much”.

The legislator was reacting to a recent statement by Mr Amidu in which he disclosed that some “strange money” had been transferred into his bank account by an unknown person.

But the NDC parliamentarian says Martin Amidu’s comments are becoming one too many, a situation he says indicates that he is unfit for the job.

He adds that the independent prosecutor is only using these excuses to divert attention from the core task he has been given.

According to him, it is high time he stopped talking and started producing results since his comments could have severe implications for the country should they go wrong.

Meanwhile, Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Yaw Preko says there is no need to rush Martin Amidu to prosecute people until enough evidence is gathered.

He indicated that Ghanaians must allow the special prosecutor to get the necessary information he requires to enable him to execute his mandate successfully.

In the same vein, a legal practitioner and constitutional lawyer, Broni Bediako said the comments by Mr Amidu proves that he is committed to fighting corruption as he is leading by example.
