Leaders and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Thursday gathered at the Greater Accra Regional Police Command following the invitation of one of its members, Nana Addo Nyame.
The party’s national leadership, accompanied by several members and sympathisers, arrived at the police command to show support for the social media activist as discussions continued behind closed doors.
In attendance were the General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, and former Awutu Senya East MP and Women’s Organiser hopeful, Mavis Hawa Koomson, among others.
Nana Addo Nyame was reportedly invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over comments he is alleged to have made about the Krontihene of Akyem Asuom, Nana Boadi Amponim Obo-Dade III.
However, the police have not yet officially disclosed the exact allegations or confirmed the specific reason for the invitation.
The development attracted a large number of NPP supporters to the premises, with many waiting outside as the party’s leadership engaged police authorities in discussions.
