NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has assured residents of the Savannah Region that the area remains a priority for development under the government of President John Dramani Mahama.
Addressing chiefs and residents of the Salaga South Constituency on May 14, Mr. Asiedu Nketia appealed to traditional leaders and party supporters in the region to remain confident in the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.
The NDC National Chairman was in Salaga as part of his nationwide “Thank You Tour” aimed at appreciating chiefs, party supporters and communities for their support during the 2024 general elections.
Speaking at the Banbange Ndefoso Palace in Kpembe, he emphasised that the Savannah Region would receive its fair share of national development projects.
“What is important now for us is to secure our position in government. When that is achieved, all of you will be given what you deserve,” he assured.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia also appealed to party supporters who may feel disappointed over the lack of appointments into public office to exercise patience, saying more opportunities would become available as the government continues its work.
“I have heard statements to the effect that some of you are not happy with the government because you have not benefited from any appointment. All I ask is patience,” he stated.
“It is only an NDC government that can give you what you want. As NDC members, there is no way a government led by Dr. Bawumia will fulfill your needs, so keep supporting the party and all will be well,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Paramount Chief of the Kpembe Traditional Area, Kpembewura Banbange Ndefoso IV, appealed to the NDC Chairman to help ensure the completion of the abandoned 60-bed capacity Salaga Hospital project.
“Our most pressing need is our hospital. I know the District Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament will brief you more on our needs,” the chief stated.
