Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Kwabena Ade Coker has hit hard on members of the party he described as detractors of former President, John Mahama.
He says despite the former President’s overwhelming
victory in Saturday’s Presidential primaries, some members are still against
Describing those members as living on fantasy Island, the ‘detractors’ are yet to come to terms over the election of John Mahama as flagbearer of the NDC.
“I campaigned for Mahama from day one. I was sure of
his victory as a flagbearer. I still see those who were against his election
bid as living on fantasy Island. They should accept it. Are they saying those
who voted for Mahama to give him more than 90 percent of votes are zombies or
what,” he quizzed on Accra-based Neat FM and monitored by Adomonline.com.
Former President John Mahama on Saturday won convincingly with 95 per cent of votes at the NDC’s presidential primaries to become the party’s flagbearer for 2020, beating six other aspirants.
A former Vice-Chancellor of University of
Professional Studies (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi came second with 1.52% while the Second Deputy Speaker and Member of
Parliament for Nadowli/Kaleo, Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin polled about 1.03% to place third.
