Government will find it very difficult to prove the treason charge against alleged coup plotters, lawyer for the suspects, Kojoga Adawudu has said.

He explained that, the evidence to be adduced by the State does not support the facts on the ground.

“Privileged information available to me suggests the treason charge is much ado about nothing. The fact I have seen does not support that charge,” he revealed on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Thursday.

Nine suspects, said to be members of ‘Take Action Ghana’, a group led by Dr Mac-Palm were on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 charged with treason at the Kaneshie District Court.

The suspects, including some serving soldiers, were alleged to be engaged in an “elaborate plot targeted at the presidency.”

But, lawyer for the suspects maintained that the State does not have any evidence to prove the treason charge.

“They should come we are ready for them,” he added.
