President of the Association of Magistrates and Judges of Ghana (AMJG), Justice Senyo Dzamefe, is calling on the government to restore the diplomatic visa acquisition status of its members.

According to Justice Dzamefe, the members need to be treated with some dignity and the need for their status to be restored.

“The Association wants their salaries increased and we no more want to join long queues when applying for visas and want our diplomatic status to be restored,” he said.

Justice Dzamefe made this appeal while outlining challenges members are faced with at the 39th Annual General meeting of the Association of Magistrates and Judges of Ghana in Accra.

“All lower bench judges must be issued with service passport and three judges must be sponsored for courses outside the country annually which will serve as an incentive for hard work,” he said.
