Police in Salaga in the East Gonja District of the Savannah Region have arrested two suspected armed robbers with AK47 assault rifle while they were preparing to go on operation.

According to the police, two of the suspects were arrested in their hideout in Salaga while the third person escaped.

Speaking in an interview with Joy News, the Savannah Regional Police Commander, DCOP Bediako Enock Adutwum revealed some other weapons that were retrieved from the hideout.

“We retrieved one AK47 assault rifle, 36 rounds of AK47 ammunitions, and one SB short gun with 30 AA cartridges in the home of the suspects.

“The suspects have been identified as Amindu Abudu aged 37 and native of Salaga and Bukari Talata aged 27 of Saboba in the North East Region, but resident of Damaku in the Oti region with the third suspect identified as Musah Karim,” he said.

The Police Commander urged the public to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of master Karim, the third suspect.
