A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Obuasi East in the Ashanti Region is calling for stiff punishment for individuals involved in the botched Power Distribution Services (PDS) deal.

Mr Edward Ennin said the over politicisation of the issue is unnecessary.

He is, therefore, appealing to President Nana Akufo-Addo to punish officials whose actions and inaction have landed the country in a mess.

“This PDS issue has been politicised too much and it’s affecting the nation. It is either NPP or National Democratic Congress always equalising on issues of national interest. Anytime issues like this come up, we always tend to blame the government and leave those involved.

“I am appealing to our President to ensure that the people involved who took decisions without involving stakeholders which have affected us now should be punished. We need to learn how to disown people who create mess in our institutions,” he told Accra based Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
