Pius Enam Hadzide

A Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide, has said some of the weapons he has seen are not in pictures circulating in the media purported to be those of the coup plotters.

“Weapons circulating on the internet to be those of the coup plotters are not the ones I have seen. I have seen some explosive weapons seized from the suspects myself which the experts have explained the damage it can cause and the number of casualties we will record when it explodes.

He called on the public to stop ridiculing the information put out by the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

“Show us what can be used to overthrow a government if you do not believe us. You do not need missiles, bombs and platoon of soldiers to overthrow a government. People must know how to interrogate the news on foiled coup plot,” he said.

He noted that they have uncovered more people involved in the case and as time goes on, the people who will be arrested, persecuted and sanctioned will be made known.

He said the government cannot afford to take the attempt to destabilise the country lightly and reminded critics that it took a bullet to kill American President J.F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963.
