The Black Satellites have completed their preparations for their final Group B match against Togo at the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, with head coach Maxwell Konadu hoping to guide his side to a winning finish in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
Ghana wrapped up its final training session on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s encounter at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, where the team engaged in tactical drills and finishing exercises under the supervision of Konadu and his technical staff.
The Black Satellites head into the decisive fixture eager to end their campaign on a positive note after managing just one point from their opening two matches.
Ghana began the tournament with a 4-2 defeat to reigning champions Nigeria before showing remarkable resilience to secure a 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso.
The team battled for a significant portion of that contest with ten men but still produced a determined display to earn a valuable point.
With progression no longer at stake, Konadu is expected to rotate his squad and hand opportunities to players who have seen limited action during the tournament.
However, the former Ghana international remains keen to field a competitive side capable of claiming all three points against the Togolese.
Despite the disappointing results, the tournament has served as an important developmental exercise for the Black Satellites, who have already secured automatic qualification for the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations by virtue of Ghana hosting the competition.
The WAFU B Championship has given the technical team the opportunity to evaluate players in a competitive environment, improve team cohesion and expose the squad to high-level international opposition as preparations intensify for next year’s continental tournament on home soil.
A positive result against Togo would provide a timely confidence boost for the young Ghanaian side as they conclude their campaign and shift their attention to the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
