Incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern region, Ras Mubarak, has kicked against the decision by the Ghana Education Service to introduce a Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in schools.
Describing the move as an attempt to introduce homosexuality to children in Ghana, the Kumbungu lawmaker is calling on parents, religious leaders to rise up against the move.
“This CSE is just a quiet attempt to introduce gay, bisexual, transgender, lesbian and weird behavior into our children. I have read the document and I must say that these foreigners only want to dump the curriculum in Africa to change our way of living,” he told Accra based Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.

Beginning next year, pupils in all public schools, including four-year-olds will be given CSE.
Officials say the subject content would, however, be age-appropriate, so the toddlers would be empowered with values that would protect them from sexual harassment.
The policy has, however, come under intense criticism.

Mr Muabrak posited that it is wrong to allow such subjects to be taught in schools and must not be taken lightly.
He said those behind the curriculum are only hiding behind flowering words to teach the kids homosexuality.

“They tried to introduce it through civil societies and certain individuals but because it didn’t work out, they are now targeting our schools. We must rise up against it because it is disgusting,” he noted.
The Kumbungu MP wants the GES to rather focus on how kids can learn very important and innovative subjects and compete with other children in foreign countries and not a comprehensive sexuality education.
