The Ghana Police Service, through its Anti-Armed Robbery Surveillance Unit, has arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery incident at Parambo Sewaba, a suburb of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.

The incident occurred on June 1, 2025, when three armed men allegedly attacked market women travelling from Yeji and made away with their belongings, including cash and mobile phones.

Speaking to Adom News, the Divisional Police Commander for Yeji, Chief Superintendent Asiamah Emmanuel, said the suspects had been on police radar for some time.

He noted that they were allegedly involved in a series of robberies targeting traders along the Yeji–Kumasi highway, as well as routes from Yeji to Prang, Parambo and Abromase.

The suspects, identified as Mohammed Ahmadu (30), Osmanu Abubakar (35) and Sumaila Mohammed (25), have been arraigned before the Atabubu Circuit Court and remanded into police custody for three weeks.

During a search at the residence of Mohammed Ahmadu, police retrieved several offensive weapons, including six machetes, a motorbike, a tricycle and three ID cards bearing different names.

Authorities say details of the motorbike and tricycle have been forwarded to the Techiman DVLA for verification to support ongoing investigations and prosecution.

Chief Superintendent Asiamah Emmanuel used the opportunity to caution criminals operating in the area, warning that law enforcement will not tolerate such acts.
