Cephas Agordzo, brother of a senior police officer who has been charged with treason for his alleged involvement in a coup plot, has revealed why his brother, ACP Benjamin Agordzo is being held at the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
According to him, his brother is not being held because of the alleged messages from a group platform on WhatsApp but because he advocated for an independent police service at a forum organised by the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG), few months ago.

To him, even sitting Members of Parliament (MPs), bishops and others have said worst things than ACP Agordzo and therefore cannot fathom why his brother is being haunted.
“My brother said nothing bad at that IDEG presentation. What is it that Dr Agordzo said that nobody in Ghana has said? Sitting MPs said even worst things, bishops and others even said worst things than what he is alleged to have written on a WhatsApp platform,” he said on Adom FM’s morning show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’, Wednesday.

Dr Agordzor has been charged with abetment to commit treason and is being held in BNI custody.
