Residents of Kwakyekrom in the Asawam-Addoagyere Municipality of the Eastern Region are calling for the urgent completion of a six-unit classroom block that has been abandoned for six years under the GETFund programme.
They say the stalled project has left pupils of the Kwakyekrom M/A Basic School studying under difficult conditions, with overcrowded and unconducive classrooms affecting teaching and learning.

The concerns were raised by the Assemblyman for the Kwakyekrom and Odeikrom Electoral Area, Theophilus Owusu, who appealed to government and relevant authorities to prioritise the completion of the facility.
He made the appeal while supporting BECE candidates in the area with stationery and mathematical sets, describing the situation as a major setback to education in the community.
According to him, completing the project will significantly improve the learning environment and help enhance academic performance among pupils.
The Assistant Headteacher of Kwakyekrom M/A Basic School, Samuel Mensah, also expressed concern over the delay, adding his voice to calls for swift action.

He noted that the completion of the classroom block would provide relief for both teachers and pupils and create a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
Residents say they are hopeful that renewed attention from authorities will finally bring the long-stalled project to completion after years of neglect.
