A deputy communications director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kamal Deen Abdulai has taken a swipe at former President, John Mahama for his comment on customers of DKM Microfinance.
The former president had challenged President Akufo-Addo to pay monies owed customers of DKM microfinance as he promised during his campaign.

Speaking at Wamfie in the Dormaa East Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region on Saturday Mr Mahama noted: “When we were in office, the NPP lied that DKM belonged to my wife and me.
“Today, you are in power, you know who DKM belongs to.
“You promised that you will collect the people’s money for them when you come into power.
“Please collect their DKM money and give it back to them.”
But the former National Nasara Coordinator of the NPP describing Mahama’s comments as reckless, said his posture towards the issue smack of dishonesty.

He warned the former President to stop using the plight of the victims for political capital, especially when he failed as president to come to their aid when the saga broke.
“How on earth do you cause a problem and turn round and blame Akufo-Addo for the same mess you created in the financial sector,” he quizzed.

“He should be ashamed for inciting Ghanaians against Akufo-Addo. What did you do to resolve the issue? Nothing,” he said on Neat FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
That notwithstanding, Kamal Deen believes Akufo-Addo is doing its best to ensure that all customers of DKM are paid without any interference.
