President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council has commended the Ministry of Education for the tactical retreat over the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).

Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso said he will now treat any information on the sexuality education as a “rumour”.

His comment was in reaction to an assurance given by the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku-Prempeh that the government had no plans to introduce CSE in the new standard based curriculum for kindergarten to primary six pupils.

He said the body responsible for curriculum assessment, National Council for Curriculum Assessment, has not approved any material.

Dr Opoku-Prempeh appealed to the public and faith-based organisations to exercise restraint and verify the facts of official government policy before making public pronouncements.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Wednesday, Rev Prof Frimpong- Manso said though he believes the Ministry, he will still give positive resistance if need be.

Conceding that he reacted based on scanty information on the subject, he said it was justifiable due to the threat CSE poses to the future generation.

The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council President said they will kick against anything which is against Ghana’s cultural values and norms.

“We won’t allow the government to implement CSE; we will give positive resistance,” Rev Frimpong-Manso stressed.
