Paramount Chief of the Kologo Traditional area, Clifford Asobayire, is sounding the alarm of an imminent hunger that may hit his community and its environs.

According to the Chief of the farming community with about 12,879 residents, his subjects are on the verge of facing extreme hunger this year.

This is after the community was hit by floods which have submerged their farms and houses.

“My community is the food basket of the municipality and should hunger strike the here, the whole municipality will be affected as well. Farmers are crying because their farms have been submerged and I know my community will suffer hunger this year,” he said.

Clifford Asobayire also said there is no access road to transport farm produce to Navrongo for sale.

He said the whole community is disorganised with schools being converted to homes.

He has, therefore, appeal to the government to come to their aid.
