A number of Senior Police Officers have been reshuffled in command positions at the Police Headquarters Tuesday.

A statement by the Director-General in charge of Public Affairs of the service, ASP David S. Eklu has said.

The latest shakeup has seen the appointment of a Deputy Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in the person of COP James Oppong Boamah, the first under the Akufo-Addo administration.

Prior to his elevation, COP Oppong Boamah was the Director-General Administration at the Police Headquarters.

As part of the shakeup, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye leaves his position as the Director-General of Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to Research and Planning while COP Prosper K. Agblor moves from Welfare to Legal and Prosecutions.

COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno now moves to the Motor Traffic and Transport Department from his post as Director General, Police Intelligence.
