Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz team for the past few days has been championing the need to know meanings and how Ghanaian celebrities attained their stage names or monikers.

Stonebwoy was granted the opportunity on the show to disclose how he came into the industry with a name that got him into the limelight.

Narrating his story on the most-listened in entertainment show, monitored by Adomonline.com, Stonebwoy said he initially had just two names which were Etse Satekla but had to find an English name to add to them because they were both local ones.

“I was the only one in my class with local names so I asked my dad about it and he told me I could add Livingstone to them. It was the name of one of my uncles who was equally a twin who passed away. So when I attended a different school, I started with Livingstone,” Stonebwoy told Andy Dosty.

The dancehall musician gave due credence to Adom FM’s Dr Duncan, who hosted Stonebwoy on the Kasahari rap show then.

“I will give credit to Dr Duncan. I was normally Stone. But on his show, he once introduced me as Stonebwoy and I felt that was it. I got off the radio and it was that till now,” he said.

According to Stonebwoy, names have the tendencies to define the future of people, adding that, he has never regretted choosing his to represent his brand.

He said, “names play a huge role. All I have been through in life, if I weren’t a stone I wouldn’t survive.”

He said he is not worried that nowadays people call him by lots of names such as OneGad, Burniton and LivingStone among others.

“Once I can be identified by different names by my fans its good. I have never had any regret picking the name. I am so grateful. I am so defined that I am a living stone in my time,” he concluded.
