A young man was found hanging in his room at Adanse Fumso in the Ashanti region on Christmas Day under bizarre circumstances.
The deceased who is a teacher in the area, took his life after reportedly failing to find solutions to his personal problems.
Adansi District Police Commander, Superintendent Asubonteng confirmed this unfortunate incident to Adom News’ Isaac Normanyo.
He indicated that, his eldest daughter had gone to the room for pocket money only the find the lifeless body of her father, teacher Danlade hanging in the room.
His wife, the police officer stated had gone on a business trip and life the four children; the eldest being about 13-years-old in his care.
The deceased was found hanging on the hook of a ceiling fan in his bedroom, with a rope, at about 4pm on Sunday December 25, 2011.
Supt. Asubonteng said, the eldest daughter of the deceased, who entered his (deceased’s) room, made a distress call to draw residents to the scene.
The residents, who could not fathom why the deceased should commit such an act, described him as an introvert, respectful and a very kind person.
The Adansi district Commander revealed that, the deceased had been reportedly battling with spiritual problems and suicide, in the opinion of the late tutor, was the only solution to the pain, depression, sadness and weeping he endured.
The incident, he added has shocked many residents in the area since the deceased was hearty the previous day without giving any hint of committing suicide.
