A Junior High School (JHS) teacher of Kiddies College at Gomoa-Budumburam in the Gomoa East district of the Central Region, Emmanuel Bekoe has been attacked by persons purported to be land guards.
According to an eye witness, the teacher was subjected to severe beatings after he sacked a form 3 student for wearing bathroom slipper to class.
The student, who felt bad about the teacher’s decision to sack her left the classroom angrily and allegedly hired land guards to discipline her teacher, Emmanuel Bekoe.
Reports say the teacher narrowly escaped death when the land guards stormed the school premises to assault him and other teachers on duty.
Teacher Bekoe narrating his ordeal to Adom News’s Kofi Adjei said after seizing the slippers, the school girl recruited five land guards to beat him to death but he managed to escape.
“The form 3 student came with a bathroom slipper. She left the campus and brought men who were land guards to come and beat. They came to question me and tried to beat me but I didn’t mind them…” he explained.
“They held my shirt and threatened me. They came to the school with her mother and forced me out of the class and beat me mercilessly” he cried.
The issue, he said has been reported to the police who have begun investigations into the matter.
