Irate youth suspected to be members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nkorakon in the Yilo Krobo District of the Eastern Region have allegedly forcibly taken over public toilet in the area.
They accused the Queen Mother of Nkorakon, Manye Bebeyo who is in charge of the facility of misappropriating funds a the facility.
According to them, a meeting requesting the queen mother to render account to them came to an abrupt end when a fight ensued between the two parties.
The youth said Manye Bebeyo has been the care taker of the facility since 2007 to 2017 without any proper account to the indigenous.
They also claimed she is a leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) whose only aim is to see the collapse of the facility.
According to the angry youth, their move is in retaliation to similar violent takeovers by supporters of the NDC in 2009 when the party won power.
But the queen mother in an interview on Adom News denied the allegations leveled against her by the youth.
According to her, she has the town at heart and will not misappropriate funds meant to maintain the facility.
Manye Bebeyo said she has reported the matte to the police who have begun investigations into the matter.
