Queen mothers of Denkyira have rendered an unqualified apology to Ghanaians following the grusome murder of army Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama by some residents of Denkyira Boase in the Central region.

According to them, the murder of the innocent soldier have brought the name of the town into disrepute and curse on the people.

The deceased, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, was lynched with parts of his body burnt by some residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Upper West Denkyira District of the Central Region.

Different accounts have been given about how he actually died on that fateful day of Monday, 29th May 2017.

Initial reports said he was mistaken for an armed robber by residents after he was seen jogging in civilian clothes with a gun.

Later, reports suggested he was attacked and killed by the townsfolk who identified him as a soldier deployed to stop them from undertaking illegal small-scale mining in the area.

Seven suspects have been remanded by the court as the police continue with investigations and arrest.

But Queen mother of Assin Tantaso, Omanhema Nana Abena Gyamfuah speaking on behalf of the queen mothers in Denkyira said the brutal killing of Captain Mahama at Diaso is very unfortunate.

This she explained amounts to the shedding of innocent blood which she is certain will incur the wrath of the gods of the land.

“It is very unfortunate to see a human being subjected to this inhumane act without any reason and that saddens our heart” she added.

Nana Abena Gyamfuah said a purification service will be held to ask for spiritual intervention and to heal the community.

This spiritual exercise, she believes may even cause suspects on the run to surrender themselves to law enforcement agencies.

Nana Abena Gyamfuah has therefore made a passionate appeal through the First lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo to apologise to President Akufo-Addo on their behave for the criminal act perpetrated by some men and women in Denkyira Boase.

  1. All these so called purification services are and will continue to invite more demonic attacks on Ghana. Ghana needs repentance. We have to turn to Christ Jesus alone because these idolatory practices bring more curses.
