Heavy rains have caused three trees to fall along the Lagos Avenue stretch in East Legon near the Ghana Link area, leading to a temporary disruption of traffic flow.
The incident occurred after hours of rainfall, which weakened the ground and caused the trees to collapse onto parts of the busy roadway, partially blocking vehicular movement.

Emergency crews have since been deployed to the scene to cut and remove the fallen trees to restore normal traffic conditions.
The clearing exercise is expected to last about four hours.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes while work is ongoing, as movement along the affected section remains restricted.

Officials at the scene say efforts are being made to ensure the road is fully cleared and made safe for public use within the shortest possible time.
The incident adds to growing concerns about the impact of the ongoing rainy season, which has led to similar cases of fallen trees and flooding in parts of the capital, disrupting transport and daily activities.
Authorities are urging road users to exercise caution during periods of heavy rainfall, particularly in wooded areas.
