In a Facebook post on Monday, June 29, Dr. Bawumia said his thoughts and prayers were with all those impacted by the disaster.

“This morning, my thoughts and prayers are with the thousands of our people affected by the floods. My deepest sympathies to those who have lost their loved ones, property, and those who have been forced out of their homes,” he wrote.

He urged residents in affected communities to comply with directives issued by the government and cooperate with institutions leading the emergency response.

Dr. Bawumia also called on emergency services and other relevant authorities to intensify efforts to reach affected persons and provide the necessary assistance.

“I urge citizens to comply with all directives issued by the government and to cooperate fully with institutions mandated to address the situation. I also urge the emergency services and all relevant authorities to do everything possible to reach those in need and assist them,” he stated.

Expressing optimism that the country would overcome the crisis through unity and compassion, he added: “We will get through this difficult time by caring for one another. May God bless our homeland Ghana.”
