Renowned Ghanaian Gospel musician Gifty Osei, popularly known as ‘Empress 1’ said the Ghana Gospel Music Industry has immensely upgraded.
According to the gospel diva, she believes respective gospel musicians are climbing higher heights in the industry presently unlike before.
In an interview with KMJ on ‘DaybreakHitz’ on Hitz FM she said “after ten years of being in the gospel music industry, I think we are upgrading ourselves and that is how I will put it.” she claimed.
Some months ago, in the history of the VGMA awards, Ghanaian gospel musician Joe Mettle was crowned the topmost awards at the event.
He beat competition from champion Ghanaian artistes Sarkodie, EL, Stonebwoy, MzVee and Medikal and was also adjudged the ‘Gospel Artiste of the Year’ on the same night.
Gifty Osei further claimed she is set to celebrate her ten years in the music industry with a milestoneconcert on October 29 this year.
Nevertheless she revealed, she will start the celebrations on July 1st, with a three-hour worship concert featuring Jack Alolome and SP Kofi Sarpong at Kpone in Tema.
Talking about her dynamism in the gospel industry with regards to fashion and stage craft, she confirmed the world is dynamic hence the need for Gospel musicians like herself to keep modernizing their concepts.
“The world is changing so you need to upgrade yourself. We want to do things that people will appreciate it like our videos, going for co-operate shows among others…”
“As for appearance and stage craft, we are learning. So I think so far so good. Ten years we are moving on” she stated.
Gifty Osei has been in the music industry for ten years and has three albums to her credit.
