The Tema Traditional Council has said it has not instructed residents to take spiritual baths in the sea.
According to a spokesperson of the Council, Nii Amarh Shipii, the Council was yet to investigate and ascertain the cause of the recent strange deaths, adding that the situation didn’t warrant residents bathing in the sea to reverse a so-called curse.

About 15 people have been reported dead following an alleged curse placed on the residents by money ritualists, known locally as “Sakawa” boys.
The deaths have caused fear and panic in the area with residents left with no other choice than to heed to the advice of a chief priest who instructed them to have a spiritual bath in the sea.
Assemblyman for the Habour Electoral area, Eric Kojo Twumasi, said the fear-stricken residents have stored sea water in gallons to cleanse themselves of the curse.

He also revealed that the bodies of the deceased have been buried to prevent an outbreak.
But speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, Nii Shipii said such ritual was premature.
He explained that the Traditional Council cannot conclude that the mysterious death is spiritual because it can be scientific or coincidental.
Nii Shipii bemoaned how people are spreading false news just to tarnish the name of the industrial town.

“We are waiting for the health authorities to perform a postmortem on the dead so no one should jump to conclusion,” he cautioned.
He said they have instructed all residents to stop taking the spiritual bath as it is not sanctioned by the Traditional Council.
Oh what a tragedy,but truely it could be scientific too ,maybe they all ate something or where at somewhere at the wrong time, and could also be spiritual hmmm
