Jordan Ayew has revealed that he feels a new level of confidence following his move from Aston Villa to Swansea City.

The Black Stars striker made his debut for the Swans on Sunday, having been signed from Championship side Aston Villa.

Ayew first joined Villa in 2015 and suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2015/16 season.

Now that he is back in the Premier League, the Ghanaian has revealed that he did not enjoy his 18-month spell with the Birmingham club.

“Last year I wasn’t consistent. Why? I don’t know, maybe because of the situation,” Ayew told the Daily Mail

“But now I’m coming into a team where I feel the confidence from the club, the coach and the players.

“I have not really enjoyed my football for the last 18 months, but Swansea have given me the chance to come here and I just want to do my best.”

Ayew managed just two goals in 21 Championship appearances for Aston Villa before his transfer to the Liberty Stadium.
