A former board Chairman of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Dr. Ishmael Yamson says President Akufo-Addo must start fulfilling the promises he made to Ghanaians during the 2016 campaign season.

According to him, the president should not wait till when it is getting to elections before he start cutting sods for project he promised to do.

“Akufo-Addo and his vice should not wait till the end of his four year term before they hit the ground cutting sod to implement his promises” he cautioned.  

Dr. Yamson who is the Chief Executive of Yamson & Associates made the call during on Adom FM’s BURNING ISSUES programme hosted by Afia Pokua.

President Akufo-Addo’s during last year’s election campaign gave mouthwatering promises which gave the New Patriotic Party (NPP) a one touch victory in the December 7 general elections.

They include among others the the 1 District, 1 factory, 1 Village, 1 Dam, free SHS which are expected to help revive Ghana’s ailing economy.

The citizenry especial those in the three northern region are expectant the Akufo-Addo led government will begin fulfilling these promises to boost their agriculture.

In support, Dr. Yamson urged President Akufo-Addo to ensure all those promises are fulfillied to gain the trust of the people.

Dr. Yamson who is also a former Chief Executive Officer of Unilever Ghana stressed that “the government must create enabling environment for the private sector to boost the economy as expected by the citizenry”.
