First-choice goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi will wear the number 1 shirt, while forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has been handed the prestigious number 10 jersey.

Manchester City striker Antoine Semenyo will don the number 11 as Ghana prepares for its fifth appearance at football’s biggest tournament.

In the goalkeeping ranks, St Patrick’s Athletic shot-stopper Joseph Anang has been assigned number 12, with Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare taking the number 16 shirt.

Defender Derrick Luckassen, who was called up to replace the injured Alexander Djiku, will wear jersey number 23. The Cyprus-based defender joins the squad as Ghana looks to strengthen its defensive options ahead of the competition.

Several other key players have also retained or received their squad numbers, with midfielder Thomas Partey keeping his traditional number 5 shirt. Gideon Mensah will wear number 14, Kwasi Sibo takes number 8, Caleb Yirenkyi has been assigned number 3, while Baba Abdul Rahman will feature in the number 17 jersey.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L of the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia in the group stage.

Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field before taking on England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. Their final Group L fixture will be against Croatia on June 27 as they seek a place in the knockout stages.

As part of their final preparations, the four-time African champions will play an international friendly against Jamaica on June 10 before heading into the tournament.

With the squad numbers now confirmed, attention turns to Ghana’s quest to make a significant impact at the World Cup and improve on their previous performances on the global stage.
