A 25 year-old, Abdul Mugeez has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by Tarkwa Circuit Court for stabbing a commercial sex worker at Number 3, a suburb of Prestea in the Western Region.
According to reports on July 9, 2017, the accused who was armed with a cutlass entered the room of the prostitute and ordered her to surrender all her money to him.
She pleaded with Abdul to spare her since she has no money.
Abdul, who got irritated at the posture of the lady started inflicting cutlass wound on the head and the left side of her face leaving her unconscious.
Abdul, immediately took her LG camera mobile phone valued GHC 600.00 and bolted.
Sources say the lady’s scream attracted some people to the scene but found her lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the head.
She described Abdul to her neighbor where a search was mounted leading to his arrest.
He was later handed over to the police for investigations while the LG mobile phone was retrieved.
After investigation, Abdul was charged with the offence and arraigned before the Tarkwa circuit court presided over by His Honour Emmanuel Bart – Plange Brew who sentenced Abdul to 15 years imprisonment.
