National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Kofi Adams, says he is appalled by the violent personnel of Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) who invaded the office of deputy EC Commissioner, Georgina Opoku Amakwah.
According to Kofi Adams, the ‘Rambo-style’ with which the police invaded the privacy of Madam Amakwah must be condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians.

There was a chaotic scene at the EC on Monday, after the EOCO Boss, Mr. K. K. Amoah  led five heavily armed police officers with two armoured vehicles into the premises with the intention to forcibly remove her from her office.
Mrs Opoku Amankwah had been on a six-month interdiction at the request of EOCO for investigations into her alleged involvement in financial impropriety.
She and two other colleagues, the chairperson of the EC, Mrs Charlotte Osei and Deputy in charge of Operations Amadu Sulley are all subjects of investigations by a committee instituted by the Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo.
But Mrs. Amankwa locked the officers out for hours, maintaining that EOCO has no such powers over her except the President, Nana Akufo-Addo.

Commenting on the issue, however, Mr. Kofi Adams on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, blamed President Akufo-Addo for the unfortunate incident.
In his view, since he took over power, lawlessness perpetrated by security personnel has increased.
The NDC National Organizer said when he saw the incident on television, “I thought armed robbers had evaded EC”.
Kofi Adams called on Police Chiefs to punish the police personnel who demonstrated such unprofessional conduct.
