The National Ambulance Service (NAS) says eight people have received medical attention following a fire outbreak at the Duraplast Factory in Accra.
In a statement shared on its Facebook page, the Service said its Greater Accra team was working with other emergency agencies to provide pre-hospital care and support ongoing firefighting and recovery operations.
The Accra City Ambulance Station was the first to arrive at the scene, with additional support from the Ridge and Stadium Ambulance Stations.
A total of 18 ambulance personnel have been deployed to assist with the emergency response.
The NAS said two casualties were struck by a falling poly tank during the incident. Both were assessed, stabilised and transported to Holy Trinity Hospital for further treatment.
A woman who collapsed at the scene also received immediate medical attention and regained consciousness after being assessed and treated by ambulance personnel.
The Service added that five other casualties who sustained minor burns and trauma-related injuries were treated at the scene.
This brings the total number of people attended to by the National Ambulance Service to eight.
The Service said its personnel remained at the scene, working alongside other emergency response agencies as firefighting and recovery efforts continued.
It has urged the public to keep access routes clear for emergency vehicles, avoid unnecessary movement within the affected area and comply with instructions from emergency responders to facilitate operations.
The NAS said further updates would be provided as more verified information becomes available.
