The Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South, Geoffrey Kini, has donated a bull to the Muslim community in the constituency, calling on them to offer prayers for lasting peace in the area.

The donation was made as Muslims marked Eid-ul-Adha, a significant Islamic festival that emphasizes sacrifice, compassion, unity, and devotion.

According to the MP, the occasion presents an important opportunity for the Muslim community to lead in prayer for calm and cohesion, particularly at a time when the area continues to experience tensions that affect daily life and progress.

Geoffrey Kini expressed concern about the recurring conflicts in Nkwanta South, noting that instability has slowed development and placed additional hardship on families.

He said the continued unrest is undermining social and economic advancement and making it difficult for communities to fully benefit from ongoing and future development efforts.

Speaking at the Nkwanta South English/Arabic Park during the Eid celebrations, the MP underscored the importance of giving back to society, especially during periods when many residents have been affected by disturbances.

He stated that beyond the celebration, the moment should be used to strengthen togetherness and encourage collective responsibility toward peacebuilding.

He further called for collaboration between religious leaders, traditional authorities, and residents, stressing that unity among key community stakeholders is critical to promoting long-term peace and development.

The MP urged the Muslim community to continue to use their influence to foster harmony and mutual respect among all groups in the constituency.

Geoffrey Kini also extended Eid greetings to Muslims in the area, wishing them a happy Sallah and encouraging them to remain united and committed to peace.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, Joseph Awal Antwi, also used the occasion to highlight the importance of sustained prayers and community leadership in restoring stability.

He appealed to traditional rulers and other opinion leaders to intensify their efforts toward reconciliation and to support initiatives aimed at ending the challenges confronting the municipality.

Joseph Awal said the presentation of the animal to the Muslim community reflects a broader commitment by authorities and leaders to pursue lasting peace.

He encouraged residents, particularly the youth, to prioritize peace, avoid actions that fuel tensions, and support efforts that will create a stable environment for development.
