Muslims in Kumawu in the Ashanti Region marked this year’s Eid al-Adha celebrations with prayers, excitement, and light-hearted exchanges as they gathered with family and friends to celebrate the occasion.
Many of the celebrants expressed gratitude for witnessing another Eid, describing the day as one of sacrifice, unity, and thanksgiving.
Speaking to Adom News after prayers, some Muslims jokingly declared that Christians who failed to remember them during Christmas should not expect to receive meat during Eid celebrations.
“No meat for Christians who didn’t remember us during Christmas,” one celebrant said amid laughter, drawing reactions from others at the gathering.
Others, however, said Eid remains a season of sharing and togetherness, regardless of religious background.
Beyond the celebrations, some of the worshippers also proudly showed off their Eid outfits and disclosed how much they spent preparing for the festivities.
Several young celebrants said they saved for months to purchase new clothes, shoes, and accessories for the special day, with some describing Eid as one of the most important events on the Islamic calendar.
The atmosphere at Kumawu was filled with joy as residents exchanged greetings, shared meals, and spent time with loved ones after the prayers.
