Embattled General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed says the party’s 2016 flagbearer, Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama caused his own defeat.
According to him, the party’s electoral woes moved from bad to worse when Dr. Mahama was made flagbearer.
Atik Mohammed’s comment follows his indefinite suspension from the PNC.
He has been accused by his party of being ineffective in his position as General Secretary and causing the party’s disqualification from the election.
Atik Mohammed was suspended by a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Saturday.
But the embattled PNC General Secretary on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday said his illegal suspension was because he spoke the truth.
He indicated that, Dr. Edward Mahama is the most inefficient person in the PNC and is never interested in discipline.
“His [Edward Mahama] idea of indiscipline is when you tell him the truth and has consistently proven that he is incompetent”.
Describing him as a “serial loser”, Atik Mohammed said Dr. Mahama now Ambassador-at-large has succeeded in collapsing the PNC.
“Edward Mahama sees himself as a tin God and I have tolerated him for far too long” he bemoaned.
Atik Mohammed maintained that, NEC don’t have the right to suspend him because Article 67 of the PNC’s constitution states only the Standing Committee after recommendations from the disciplinary committee can kick him out of the party.
This notwithstanding, the embattled PNC scribe stressed that “I don’t mind walking away from the PNC but I must make sure these errors are corrected”.
