Eminent Advisory Committee (EAC) of Electoral Commission (EC) has urged political parties and other stakeholders to hold their calm amidst the ongoing new Voters Register tension.

The EC, in a press statement released today, Wednesday, January 15, 2020 says it is working in the national interest hence the clarion call.

The EC in a meeting with the Advisory outlined the justification for the procurement of a New Biometric Voter Management System and the compilation of a new voters register for the 2020 general elections.

In the statement signed by the Chairman of EAC, Justice Emile Short, the EC said it was set to meet members of the IPAC to have further deliberations on the matter.
