Legal counsel for Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Kojogah Adawudu, says the accusations of double salary against his client, Inusah Fuseini, is a plan to tarnish his hard-earned image.
The former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources is part of a number of former government appointees who have been accused of receiving double salaries as MPs and as Ministers.

A number of former government appointees have been accused of drawing double salaries from government’s consolidated fund, an act that is criminal per the laws of the country.
So far, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service who are handling the case have cautioned four of the accused with stealing.
But the accused blame President Akufo-Addo for using the Police CID to harass them and have vowed to resist attempts to use the security agencies to witch-hunt them.

But reacting to the matter, Mr. Adawudu said his client will never steal government’s money, therefore, the accusation of stealing against him and other appointees were baseless.

“My client is not a thief. He can never steal and will never steal government’s money and so they should stop tarnishing his image and allow him to work peacefully”, he said on Accra-based Okay FM.
According to him, government has failed to follow the values of fairness, equity and justice in the matter.
