To him, the dynamics in Ghana is not same as China, adding that individual risks depend on a lot of factors.

“It’s not everyone who is exposed that gets infected. When you are moderate, you may recover. The virus spreads through droplets. If you touch surfaces with some droplets and touch your face, mouth, eyes or nose, you can be at risk,” he said.

According to Dr Sarkodie, people with chronic respiratory conditions, diabetes, hypertension others are at risk of losing their lives once infected.

On response strategies in Ghana, he said the strategy at districts without cases is to prevent importation.
