Chef Nyhiraba Zulaiha has expressed gratitude to Ghanaians and supporters across the world following the successful completion of her 193-hour cook-a-thon attempt in Accra.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, June 10, Chef Nyhiraba described the challenge as a remarkable journey and thanked the public for their encouragement and support throughout the event.

The cooking marathon, which began on June 1, 2026, at the Madina Zongo Astro Turf, attracted support from ordinary Ghanaians, government officials, dignitaries, religious leaders, traditional authorities, media personalities, social media influencers and food enthusiasts.

According to the statement, the cook-a-thon was not only a personal ambition but also an opportunity to celebrate Ghanaian cuisine and showcase the resilience and determination of Ghanaian women.

“Chef Nyhiraba undertook this challenge not only as a personal dream but also as an opportunity to celebrate Ghanaian cuisine, showcase the resilience and determination of Ghanaian women, and inspire young people to pursue their ambition with courage and dedication,” the statement said.

The team noted that the challenge demonstrated the spirit of unity among Ghanaians and highlighted the country’s rich culinary heritage.

Chef Nyhiraba also paid tribute to fellow culinary record-attempt pioneers, Chef Faila and Chef Abby, for their contributions to promoting Ghana on the global culinary stage.

“We would like to further express our sincere appreciation to Chef Faila for blazing the trail and elevating Ghana’s presence on the global culinary stage. Not forgetting Chef Abby’s presence and support,” the statement noted.

The team said it is now awaiting the official review and final decision from Guinness World Records regarding the 193-hour cook-a-thon attempt.

“As we conclude this chapter, we respectfully await the official review and final decision from Guinness World Records. We understand that the verification process is thorough and may take some time,” the statement said.

While awaiting the outcome, Chef Nyhiraba said the experience has strengthened her commitment to promoting Ghanaian cuisine and inspiring the next generation.

“For Chef Nyhiraba, this journey represents much more than a record attempt. It is a testament to perseverance, faith and hard work,” the statement added.

The team also pledged to respect the outcome of the Guinness World Records verification process once it is completed.
