Communication Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West Ursula Owusu Ekuful says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should not have contested the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election to save time and resources.

The by-election took a different turn this morning when some armed men allegedly stormed the house of NDC parliamentary Candidate, Mr Delali Kwesi Brempong and gun shots were fired “injuring” some party members and others at La Bawleshie school park.

The NDC, following the violent atmosphere, declared their stand as backing out from the contest for the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat.

But reacting to this, Ursula Owusu says she cannot fathom why the NDC would throw in the towel at this dying minute.

According to her, the NDC members who are keen to win the by-election know “it’s only a miracle that will cause them to win” the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat.

Ursula Owusu in an interview on Adom News said, “If they knew they won’t vote, they should have said it earlier to save money and time. They knew only a miracle that would make them win. NDC have realized they would lose and If they back out, we understand, as for us we are waiting for 5pm”.
