Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association has said the Black Stars will not wear its new jersey in their final World Cup Qualification clash against the Pharaohs of Egypt on Sunday.
This, according to Saani Daara is because they have not sought clearance from world football body, FIFA.
Puma, the kit sponsor of the Black Stars has delivered new jerseys to the team. Ahead of their final world cup qualifier with Egypt, many speculated the team would wear it.
But the spokesperson of the GFA on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports show Thursday said the team will not wear the new jersey until they receive clearance from FIFA.
“According to the regulations of the game, you can’t unveil a new jersey without FIFA’s   clearance and as at now we have gotten the approval so we won’t outdoor a new Black Stars’ jersey in our game against Egypt”, he explained.
“The jersey you have seen on social media is our away jersey not the main one”
“Even when we decide to change our jerseys, the white one will not be changed it will just be the red jersey”
The new kit has a blend of all three colors that make up the Ghana flag with red, yellow and green all present.
