
Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals, including two ministers of state.
In a post shared on social media, Dr. Bawumia revealed that he had personally conveyed his condolences to President John Dramani Mahama following the incident, describing it as “heart-wrenching” and a blow to the entire nation.
“The fallen men paid the ultimate price in the service of our motherland, leaving a shocked nation in pain,” he wrote.
Dr. Bawumia noted that he knew most of the deceased personally and was deeply affected by the loss.
“Samira, I, the Bawumia family, and the NPP join the nation in mourning them,” he added.
The crash, which occurred in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, has left the nation in mourning as investigations into the cause of the tragedy are expected to begin.
