Former President John Dramani Mahama has said the death of Alhaji Iddrisu Bature, is a personal loss to him and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Commiserating with the family of the late Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper, Mr Mahama in a Facebook post said “Sudden news of the passing of my brother and friend, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu.
This is a great personal loss and for the NDC family. His wit and a great sense of analysis will be sorely missed. May Allah the Merciful grant him Jannatul Firdaus.”
Alhaji Bature, 60, died on Friday, 5 January 2018, at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital following a short illness.
He will be buried today, Saturday, 6 January 2018 at the Madina Cemetery in Accra, in accordance to the Islamic law.
The late journalist was a harsh critic of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

  2. What am I hearing from John Mahama. A personal loss to him.??OMG !! And you couldn’t pay your last respect to him, rather you were in a jubilant mood in Techiman the same day of his burial for your so-called unity walk. Does Mahama not feel ashamed to make such embarrassing statement. Sakawa people care less about a fellow man’s death so am not surprised. Mahama only and he only can explain why he decided to stay away from Alhaj Batule’s burial ceremony. It’s was Prof Atta Mills and it’s now the turn of Alhajj Batule
