Barclays Bank has now rebranded as Absa Ghana following a decision by its parent Absa Group to change all of its operations in Africa.

The rebranding comes after successful completion of the required internal and external rebranding processes.

The bank, effective Monday, February 10, 2020, as part of the rebranding, will use red and white as its corporate colours.

Speaking at an event to officialise the rebranding, Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Ernest Addison, commended the bank for their impact on society and the financial sector.

“Their achievements are remarkable and BoG and the general public expect the changeover to Absa to carry along the level of excellence, leadership and professionalism which have become synonymous with the 100 years Barclays heritage,” he said.

Dr Addison expressed optimism the new milestone would be more exciting as Ghanaians will now have the opportunity to own shares in the bank in the near future.
