The General Secretary of the Greater Accra East region of the Assemblies of God Reverend Alfred Akumbe has called on the leadership of the Pentecostal churches to provide security cameras on church premises.

The call follows the death of the head pastor of the Central Assemblies of God Church at Tema Community Four, Rev Dr David Nabegmado.

Reverend Nabegmado was stabbed to death Sunday morning at the church premises where he was preparing to deliver a sermon.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem show, Reverend Akumbe stated even though ultimate protection for pastors come from God, pastors will however wish they will be provided some level of security.

“We will be glad if surveillance and security cameras are provided in our church premises to help enhance our security and also help to detect criminals who invade the church premises.”

Reverend Alfred Akumbe speaking on how he heard the information stated he was informed by the Superintendent General of the Assemblies of God Church, Reverend Frimpong Manso.

“I am also a head pastor in community 18 and was told there is an issue at the Tema central Assemblies of God and need to be there so I stopped everything I was doing and went there.”

Reverend Akumbe however urged church members to remain calm while he extended his condolence to the family of the late Reverend Nabegmado.
