Ghanaians, especially teenage ladies, have been advised stop taking nude photos of themselves.

Head of Cyber Crime Unit of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Superintendent Gustav Hebert Yankson who gave the advice on Adom FM’s morning show, “Dwaso Nsem” Friday said those nude pictures could end up being leaked on the Internet.

“The young ones should be very vigilant, especially the female ladies. They should desist from taking nude photos in the first place because if the phone or the device with which you took such photos gets missing, criminals could use it to blackmail you,” he advised.

He also added that the use of platforms such as “Facebook were landing youngsters into trouble because that is where strangers hide to track down their victims using fake names among other things”.

He cautioned the general public against activities of unscrupulous persons who intend to take advantage of the Christmas holidays to dupe unsuspecting people through the internet.
